Shelford Group member Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with notable mentions for areas of outstanding practice.

The trust was inspected in November 2015, with the trust’s innovative and active development of services highlighted for special mention in the final report. Technologies such as assessing coronary artery disease and problems in early pregnancy were praised, with CMFT staff’s care, passion and willingness to improve also commended.

Sir Mike Deegan, Chief Executive of CMFT, said staff should “be really proud of all their hard work day in day out”, and that he was pleased to see a number of areas of outstanding practice identified by the inspectors.
