Roland Sinker has this week taken up his new post as Chief Executive of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Speaking upon his appointment, Roland stated, “It is a privilege to be a part of the Shelford Group. I have worked closely with the Group over the past six months as acting CEO at King’s, and look forward to continuing work amongst colleagues in sharing our experience in the interests of our patients and the wider NHS”.

Sir Ron Kerr, Chair of the Group and Executive Vice-Chairman of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, commented on Roland’s appointment, “Roland’s established career in the NHS means he has a wealth of knowledge to offer in healthcare and life sciences. Having already been involved in the Shelford Group in his capacity as the acting CEO of King’s, I am pleased to welcome him back to the Group and continue working together to share best practice”.

Roland served as Strategy Director at King’s between 2005 and 2008, before becoming their Chief Operations Officer and, most recently, acting CEO at the Trust as of February this year. Roland is the former Programme Director for King’s Health Partners, the Academic Health Sciences Centre created between King’s College London, King’s College Hospital, Guy’s & St Thomas’ and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.
