In July 2013 NHS England announced an “open and honest debate about the future shape of the NHS in order to meet rising demand, introduce new technology and meet the expectations of its patients.” Without reform to how services are delivered, NHS England has predicted a funding gap of £30 billion by the end of the decade. Providers have begun to develop their own solutions. Leading acute providers are well placed to improve the quality of local care. Partnerships across services can spread best practice and economies of scale while reconfigurations of specialist care can deliver better value for money. Building relationships between services will also be pivotal to the integration of care around the patient. There is also growing interest in how the UK can harness the successes of the life sciences to become a source of inward investment and the role of major providers in driving this innovation.

We look forward to a lively and insightful debate. For more information, follow this link: http://www.reform.co.uk/resources/0000/1235/Reform_Shelford_Group_conference_brochure.pdf
