The Shelford Group are members of The Cavendish Coalition, a group of health and social care organisations looking to work in collaboration to ensure there is a shared voice to provide expertise, evidence and advice to the government on Brexit negotiations.

In a statement, the Shelford Group and fellow members of The Cavendish Coalition have outlined their commitment to “secure the workforce required to deliver continuing quality in health and social care”. This will involve supporting the right to remain in the UK of our current workforce who originate from the European Economic Area, promoting employment policy to attract the skills required from Europe and the rest of the world in the future, and providing a focal point for engagement with relevant government departments and arms-length bodies on the workforce issues arising from the UK’s new position.

As part of The Cavendish Coalition, the Shelford Group will continue to support the UK’s global development of health and social care practice and research, continue to enhance community cohesion and tackle discrimination and hate crime against staff or patients, and create a strong evidence-base to support policy positions.
