Kirsten Major, Chief Executive of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will become the new Chair of the Shelford Group, starting from Monday 8 April. Kirsten, who was previously Vice Chair, takes over the role from Professor Tim Orchard, Chief Executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The role of Chair of the Group rotates annually between the Chief Executives of our ten members.
Professor Clive Kay, Chief Executive of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, will become Vice Chair. These appointments, which are both carried out in addition to existing Trust CEO roles, are in line with the parameters set out in the Shelford constitution agreed in 2022, including meeting the criteria for geographical diversity.
The Chair and Vice Chair terms of office are for one year, with the Vice Chair then stepping into the Chair role in April 2025.
