The Shelford Group extends our sincere thanks to Amanda Pritchard for her dedicated leadership as the Chief Executive of NHS England. During her tenure, Amanda navigated the NHS through significant challenges, notably the COVID-19 pandemic and service recovery in the years since then. It has been an immensely challenging time for the NHS, and we are grateful for her leadership. Amanda has always displayed a huge commitment to patients and to the values of the NHS.

As the first woman in her role, Amanda has been a trailblazer and an inspiration. We are grateful for Amanda’s contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Chair of the Shelford Group, Kirsten Major said:

“We’ve always hugely appreciated Amanda’s leadership at the top of NHS England. She has dealt with huge pressures with vision and fortitude and leaves the NHS well-placed to continue its service recovery following the pandemic. As a former NHS trust Chief Executive, Amanda always demonstrated understanding and empathy about the realities of NHS delivery, and we have valued highly our interactions with her through the Shelford Group. We wish Sir Jim Mackey, who also moves to the Chief Executive role at NHSE from a Shelford Group Trust, every success and look forward to supporting and working with him.”
